Our steak mixture is prepared with a bunch of selected spices. Steak is most often made from bone-in ribs, but this mixture is also delicious with other meats. According to tradition, this preparation method ensures that the natural flavour of the meat dominates in the result. During its preparation, the meat slices are often smeared with mustard, but according to other opinions, mustard does not suit the real „Flekken”. Here, as in all cases, what matters is how we like it best.

The name „Flekken” and the method of making it probably spread in Hungary from Transylvania. The word comes from the Transylvanian Saxon words flakn, flekn, which originally, like the literary German Fleck, meant a piece of leather for patching.
How to use
Meat prepared with this mixture is tastiest when, like grilling, the meat slices are prepared and seasoned the night before roasting. In addition to the spice, the slices can also be smeared with mustard and/or oil, so the result will be juicier.
It is excellent even without marinating, and it is easy to use: rub the prepared, clean meat slices with the spice mixture, then fry them in a pan, on the grill or in the oven.
